Thursday 24th July - What small DFW things will you be doing today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending .
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:

Morning DFW-Jedis,
Today my OH and I will:
Deep clean the Kitchen using minimal cleaning products (Stardrops, Baby Bottle Sterilising Tablets, hoover, hot water and elbow-grease. Not looking forward to this! We've let the kitchen get a bit out of control lately...So far found a packet plasters, lots of coffee and a document we'd thought we'd lost forever.
Have a good look at what food we have left with a view to using up all the oddments, and our kitchen really puts the "odd" in "oddments".
Do i-Say surveys.
My £2 in free Superdrug BeautyCard Points from a survey has appeared in my account. Will plan what to do with that £2.
Do Nectar AdPoints.
Put some freebies and offers on here if I find any.
Offers:
Free Bacon Breakfast Sub at Subway before 11am when you buy a newspaper, or find one on the train. (Link)
£5 off a £40 spend at Lidl in Today's Daily Star (15p).
£5 off a £45 spend at Aldi in Today's Daily Mirror (55p).
Print your own £5 off £50, £7.50 off £75 and £10 off £100 spend at Farmfoods coupons. (Link) Shame they stopped doing reductions on smaller spends.
From today until 8th September you can exchange £5 of Tesco Clubcard vouchers for £10 to purchase anything on the Tesco Direct online shop: (Link)

I'm with relatives today so that's nice and cheap! I really should get on and send an email a friend to see about visiting for a few days (we go for a country break, they come to me for a city break, so it all works out nicely!). Once that's sorted I can go through my diary and book Longleat and a few other places with the free vouchers I've already claimed from clubcard

Of all the credit cards I want shot of, I'll always keep my tesco one and pay it off in full each month so I can have clubcard boost for the summer holidays!
In our house, when things break, we just pretend they still work0 -
Morning all,
Thanks Ally for starting us off!
Today I have my day off so need to crack on with some housework! OH still in USA working until September so I can't even blame him for the mess :rotfl:
* Couple of loads of laundry and on the line, best make the most of our 27 degree heat today
* [STRIKE]Check banks[/STRIKE] - I'm a little grumpy I seem to have spent everything this month, but on the positive side, although there is nothing for the savings account, there is nothing outstanding to be paid.
* [STRIKE]Check debt amounts[/STRIKE] ( need to see what to pay off on Next account and check credit card is back at zero balance)
* Clean the hovel I am living in, at least the upstairs, maybe downstairs depending on enthusiasm
* Post 2 parcels back for refunds
* Going out this evening to the beach with my mum and her dogs, might be a free fish and chips in it for me!!
Have a good day all
SxI have enough money for the rest of my life... as long as I never have to pay for anything again!

Hello all
Thank you Ally for the start.
All this talk of deep cleaning has got to me and, as I am not at work until Monday, I am planning a blitz of the house and garden. Started on the garden/jungle last weekend but there is plenty more to do.
I have double checked bank accounts this morning and started a fresh page in the spending diary.
Need to do a small food shop - planning a BBQ later:beer:. Will plan the next few days meals, write a list and stick to it (unless we see freezable bargains).
Best get on with the cleaning - oh joy!

I am bit hit and miss on this post and hardly recognised anyone's names but just needed to say:
Today I will be hoping that I do not get any phone calls or emails from my solicitor or estate agent as a signature on a piece of paper tomorrow decides whether I join the Debt Free Roll of Honour and finally become debt free for the first time in 15 yrs!!!!
