Mortgage in principle disappointment

I put my house on the market in March and saw the financial advisor attached to the agent. She found me a mortgage in principle with Halifax, happy days or so I thought. This week found the perfect house, sold ours, put an offer in, applied for the mortgage.......crash bang wallop they will no longer lend me the amount needed and have dropped it by £50,000. Nothing has changed other than I applied for credit in April for a season ticket which was approved and has now been paid for. My credit rating is 889 out of a possible 999 so it's good. I haven't defaulted or got ccj's and I'm so careful with credit stuff. Now I have got abit of debt but nothing major and I pay that every month. Now in April I applied for said season ticket with my new married name and it was rejected as I didn't exist, I explained my marriage so he tried my old name, accepted straightaway. He promised me faithfully that the rejection would leave no trace but here we are struggling to get this mortgage all of a sudden. With all this in mind can anyone help as to why things have changed. The mortgage hasn't been rejected they just suddenly reluctant to lend the cash.

MMR happened in April. This will likely be the reason.0

Went to see fa again in May because of MMR and it just dropped by 10,000, so in May wasn't a problem!!!0
