In an ideal world, so do I. But you know nothing of the circumstances, so you would be better not to judge. However, you cant beat it as a money saving technique! :p

    What is there to judge?
You borrowed the money (come on now you didn't really expect it to be interest free did you?) - you now pay it back.
It is irrelevant if OP has already paid a lot in interest.

As I said, you know nothing about the circumstances.

Plus none of your comments relate to the OP question.

Plus a some of your comments are inaccurate.

Please enlighten me with your financial wizzardy then please.
    How am I inaccurate?

    OK, you said:

"If you do ask for a discount and get one it won't make your credit files pretty to look at.
You do know that don't you."

Inaccurate. As stated above, I did exactly this, made a reduced payment in full and final settlement and still got credit.

Just because you do not want something to be true does not mean that it isn't.

As Mr Broderick says above, jonesy "take a day off".

You would be best advised to make factual statements rather than half truths based on your biased judgements.

Because SOME people think they are smart but in reality they are not.
Don't worry it will catch up with them in the future.

Don't take this the wrong way but for everybody who borrows and pays back in full I hope they turn your offer down.

Agreed. I don't see why the banks do this anyway surely it makes more sense to them to keep it over the original term and get the interest out of you.
