Spring flooring...portable...*sigh*

Hi lovely people,
My cheer squad would love a sprung floor, but I suspect it's going to take us a while to raise £18,000
So I'm thinking about trying to build one. I've seen a few sites advocating tyres, but I can't see them being very portable, or foam blocks and plywood, which might be expensive.
Any ideas where I could get foam/plywood for cheap? Or a way of getting more donations/sponsorship?
Thank you!

Hi there
Can I suggest you try looking at a reclaimed timber yard? The flooring usually comes from school gyms or leisure centres & the bits which make the floor spring are often included. I ended up with a semi sprung floor (which suits my requirements) for around £4000 (school sports hall size ish) . The year after it was laid, I spent another £1000 or so to have it sanded & varnished. Looks brilliant! It came up like new.
Good luck.0 -
Oh that's a really good idea! Thank you so much
I will ask around.

This probably sounds a bit daft but you could try talking to some of the "local" wrestling scene and see what they do.
The rings have to be "sprung" or else they'd do themselves a mischief and by the nature of what they are, they must be pretty mobile.0 -
Funnily enough we've cheered in a wrestling ring before
sadly it's the wrong kind of sprung, we need rebound rather than shock absorption
Might be worth approaching ring manufacturers though...hmm *ponders*
Thank you!
