Memory foam for sofas?

We have a sofa for which we need new cushions and it needs re upholstering. It had three seat cushions before but I love the idea of one long one, which it think would be difficult with normal foam, and very, very heavy with feather.

It made me wonder if memory foam might work?

Any one know?

I wouldn't if I'm honest. memory foam moulds under a body's warmth and shape, so instead of being a supportive structure, I think you'd end up sinking deeply into the cushion making rising trickier

just my opinion though - I'm not a fan of memory foam, being of a larger build. Hubby & I refer to them as tempura mattresses after having spent a hot & sweaty few nights (& not in a good way) on/in them a few years back :)

I'm inclined to agree with Grimbal. I don't memory foam would be a good solution. Why would a single piece of ordinary foam not work?

I have a three sweater sofa with two huge feather cushions which are always throwing us off at the front edge. I'd love foam but dunelm mill don't do it big enough, I'd need to get some specially cut.

Whilst shopping for a new suite recently, we sat on the odd memory foam sofa, and struggled to get out

    Wasn't very comfortable either

Ok, the not being able to get up is really important, not least as its a low sofa any way.

My worry about ordinary foam is that I once read about someone swapping to a single long Cushion from smaller ones and if you sat in the middle the ends pinged up!

I'll have to get these cut any way as the sofa is very slightly curved and a very odd size.
