a whole new mortgage process as house sale fell through

Options
my partner and I were in the process of buying an old house for a considerable amount of money - it looks like this will no longer be going ahead as the survey has thrown up too many issues and the vendors won't budge on price.

we were already to exchange contracts but then they said no help with the price and that we couldn't have any more surveys done to help us budget.

now we are being told that we will need to go through the whole mortgage process again for another house... is this going to happen every time something goes wrong? seems ridiculous.

what's worse is our other mortgage people were happy to accept me on a temporary contract, my partner works on a permanent one, but now we're worried again with the whole process having to start post mmr.
