Hi all,

Our broker applied for a DIP with Halifax on 8th July. Both mine and my husband's credit files show several searches by Halifax and Lloyds group on 8th/9th July, as you would expect. These are all labelled as "Mortgage Quotation" or "Generic ID Check" and don't include any credit amount.

However, our full application was made on 10th July, valuation was instructed for 14th July and our offer came through on 19th July.

However, no further searches of our credit files has yet been made (at least not ones that show up on CreditExpert or Noddle!). Is this normal? I was expecting a full credit application search at the full application stage? I'm presuming there will be one around completion day?

Thanks

I just had soft searched by Halifax, same as you. My application was successful, still nothing on the credit file. I've seen other people say they do a search just prior to completion, so I'm keeping my nose clean just in case ;)

Glad to hear that your application to offer turnaround was so quick! We have just applied for a Halifax mortgage on the H2B scheme. Hoping for a quick valuation and offer as desperate to complete and move during the school holidays whilst I am off work. All solicitors searches etc are done... It is just a waiting game!

Did you apply for your mortgage through a broker?

yup, through a broker. Ours is HTB (equity loan) too, so hopefully your timescale shouldn't be too indifferent.

Update - We just had a call from the Solicitor's - they want us to come into the office early tomorrow to sign some paperwork, she hinted that they are close to being ready to complete! So so so so excited!

Wow! Congratulations, that is fab news. Hoping our timescale is as quick as yours. Desperate to move now! Good luck!

Nothing firm yet, mid to late Sept, it's been put back by the builders, the joys of buying a new build.
