Hubby and I have smoothies (no idea how I am going to budget them, berries are so expensive!) but first off working out the kids.

I'm happy to buy no sugary cereals but would like a few healthy suggestions that I've likely missed.

Looking for no sugar cereals but having sugar-filled smoothies?

Great recipe for nutty seedy bread here:

It sounds really healthy and delicious, I'm planning to get some yeast next time I go shopping and give it a go.

Perhaps they are having green smoothies? Five portions of green veg for breakfast is not so unhealthy after all?

Don't think so. OP mentions the berries for the smoothies are expensive.

Green veg smoothies don't cost much - if cost is a problem, there's probably quite a lot of fruit in them.

Not sure I understand why the smoothies are an issue. Surely adults changing their eating habits is the easiest thing in the world? Sets a good example for the kids, too.

The best breakfasts tend to be a mix of carbs and protein, so as previously suggested scrambled eggs on toast is good, beans on toast is another good option. 6 weetabix does seem a lot and it would be better to have a variety of food at breakfast time, including some fruit.
