Is it mandatory to use postcards or can we use sealed letters for the postal competitions?

For many years I used up my Xmas cards for postcard comps and I have been known to slice up cornflake packaging to create postcards, I don't think it really matters. I don't do many postal comps now. The stamps are too expensive.0

I know what you mean,i only use the 2nd Class stamps but i may stop doing them altogether as we've got just as good of a chance doing the free comps.
If you don't win with free entry you simply don't win but with postal everytime you don't win you lose the cost of postage. If I was going to spend the money I would get a thunderball/health lotto ticket* for the same price as 2 stamps which can give better odds of winning something and the potential for much bigger wins than postal comps.

Hi, apologies. I've read through most of the first page but couldn't find the answer to this question specifically.
I'm interested to know too.0 -

It will depend on the individual comp T&C's (I think most allow it), three current ones
-"on a postcard or on or within an envelope" (ITV)
"on a stamped postcard or back of a sealed envelope"(Ch 4)
"on a postcard, or on/in a sealed envelope" (Ch 5)0 -
It's worth reading the first few posts on the Postals thread
