Best network for 3g/calls in NI & data/calls in ROI?

Does anyone know if the Vodafone £5 add-on is the best option for roaming in Ireland these days? It’s for both calls & data.
For 3G coverage in NI does anyone have good/poor reports about the various networks? We use O2 but the coverage has gone downhill.

Have you seen the three "feel at home" promotion? roaming in 16 countries (including ireland) for free, within your tariff's allowances (also works for payg)

Three's "Feel At Home" is fantastic - it's great being able to go to the ROI (and others) while still having (basically) unlimited data.

Just check you can get a decent signal where you live though.

I find 3 to be very poor network wise


Try EE and they have a few add ons where where you can get "international" calls for free etc

3 now share a lot of their network infrastructure with EE, so the coverage is not as bad as it used to be.

I'm currently with EE (well, T mobile), but planning to switch to 3 when my contract ends in November. I have got a payg sim to try out first, as I'm going on holiday next month to France and want access to mobile internet. My friends moved house last year and had no coverage in their new house (I can't even receive a text message there on my phone either), but 3 gave them some kind of gizmo which plugs in the house and now gives them full signal which sorted everything out for them.

Where did you get that Three share there infrastructure with EE?
Three originally had a national roaming agreement with O2 then with Orange, but now do not.
Three had bought spectrum from EE to start its 4G with their own infrastrure.
My o2 contract is up in september and will be moving to Three then, with 4G (at no extra cost) coming to NI with Three by the end of 2014 in these towns...
