You need to jump through a few hoops to get it at this price but well worth the effort.
Dixons are selling this online at £333 but with a combination of cashback and vouchers this can be reduced to under £212 inc delivery. Here's how.
Apply for an Egg card via Quidco and take advantage of the £35 cashback on successful applications.
Step 2. Go via Greasy Palm to Dixons making sure you spot the coupon here
http://www.greasypalm.co.uk/popup_pages/coupons.php?retailer=504 which gives £10 off orders over £250. By going via Greasy Palm you also get 1% cashback from Dixons.
Step 3. Use the Egg card to pay for the camera as Egg have an instant cashback of 5% on online purchases at Dixons.
Step 4. As part of Nikons 90th Anniversary promotion they are offering cashback of £60 until 31st August 07 if you send in proof of purchase of the D40 kit, details here:- www.europe-nikon.com/promotions
You should end up with :-
D40 DSLR Kit 333
Delivery 3.95
Egg Card Via Quidco -35
Greasy Palm £10 Voucher -10
Egg 5% Cashback -16.15
1% Greasy Palm Cashback -3.23
Nikon £60 Cashback -60
Total 212.57
I've got one myself and they're a great camera.

Sounds a really good price.
Just one question though...how does greasypalm and egg track your purchase as I thought they both used referral links - meaning you could either get greasypalm or egg cashback but not both?
Can you advise? Thanks0 -
The OP is saying is get the egg card though quidco and that gives them the 35 quid.
You buy the camera via greasypalm, with the egg card
ahhhh ..... I think I see what you are saying ..... would yuou actually get the cashback from egg just because you are buying from Dixons as opposed to going to Dixons via the egg site. I dont know that one!!0 -

Eggs-actly
(Sorry couldn't resist)
So long as you pay with your Egg card on the Dixons website it doesn't matter that you've clicked through from Greasy Palm."A nation of plenty so concerned with gain" - Isley Brothers - Harvest for the World0 -
So do you think this would be possible then -
Use Quidco (instead of Greasypalm)for cashback on the camera purchase
Pay with egg card you will get 5% cashback as well
And you could use the £10 off voucher code?
Cheers...0 -
If you already have an egg card then its + £35 i guess?0
-
Just noticed that egg are currently offering 7% off of dixons not 5% as previously stated.
All the best

Thank you!0 -

You could, but from what I can see Quidco are only offering 0.5% cashback as opposed to Greasy Palm's 1%.
The voucher is just a code you enter at checkout so it would work with either referral site.
Well spotted on the 7% Egg cashback at Dixons until 31/7/07 phatbear.
One thing I missed out, if you're a new Egg customer and you sign up to their Egg money manager service and add a non Egg account you get another tenner back too.

This is assuming that you get your egg card whilst the deal is still on.
I took out a card a few weeks ago and it took about 10 days to arrive. You might just get it for the end of the month to be able to use the 7% but there's a lot of speculation there.0 -

Even based on the worse case scenario, ie the card taking 10 days peeps would still have a full day to purchase the camera, assuming of course by then that all the MSE'rs havent snapped theres up already.
On a personal note I was quite tempted to dip my toe in the water for this one, until I saw how much the flash was for the camera, so I guess i'll have to stick with my little pocket rocket for now.
All the best
