Order your statutory file from all three CRAs and establish exactly what is visible, then your broker knows what they are up against;-

    Equifax

    https://www.econsumer.equifax.co.uk/consumer/uk/order.ehtml?prod_cd=UKSCR

    CallCredit

    https://www.noddle.co.uk

    Experian

    http://www.experian.co.uk/consumer/statutory-report.html#orderReport

Something visible on only one version may help your broker place your case with a lender which only takes data from the CRA with the "clean" file.

Update - Broker has rang to say he has high st lenders who will consider us. He seems to think we should be able to get the same kind of product he quoted before this issue came to light. So sounds promising

I thought it was a bit extreme for a one off.

Payday lending is last resort. Most people have access to a credit card or arrange a temporary overdraft.

    Is your deposit being gifted?

No we have saved. Looking back now it would of made more sense to pay for the car repairs on a credit card, I didnt realise at the time how a payday loan could effect my chances of a mortgage. Lesson well and truly learnt!

This makes sense as he did have to go and speak to someone more experienced about it and he did say he hadnt been there as long as others in the company. Fingers crossed, see what tomorrow brings

Ask to deal with the experienced person.

Yeah but how will the "trainee" learn anything if he's never at the sharp end ? ;)

I know that most people don't want to be the "guinea pig" for someone learning a role, but it has to happen.

    Fair enough :T

I still have nightmares from having my teeth tampered with by dental students

Some of them were very good to be fair.

If he gets us a mortgage I'm more than happy to be a test dummy.

good news is he's found us a mortgage with Abbey. Said we tick all the boxes and the pay day loan isn't an issue with them. Will submit the application Tomorrow and he seemed to think we will get an approval fairly sharpish! Stressing already!
