Virgin Media FB competition

Well they have chosen someone who posted 2 hours ago, Virgin Media posted the answer on 18th July at 10:32am. Surely they should announce the winner as being someone who posted before 10:32 on July 18th.

I have commented, do you think they will pick a different winner, by the way I didn't get it right just think they should pick someone who commented before they showed the answer.

The winner of this day edited their answer after the correct one was posted (and after the overall closing date of midnight Sunday)

The other 2 winners entered correctly.

Companies running a FB promotion should stick to using an app, this wouldn't have happened. Or if the ball corresponded to where it would be on the TV advert instead of Virgin Media randomly selecting where the ball was

The first cheat is pressing them so he can get the prize and they seem to be acknowledging him, but not those who are asking why they have picked 2 people who didn't enter genuinely - https://www.facebook.com/virginmedia/photos/a.278551958824836.84008.197718073574892/882955391717820/

Can they actually award him the prize? or can they be reported to somebody for not running the competition correctly?
I don't know who regulates any of these facebook competitions.
Thanks to all who post comps! :A

Has he just replied to that FB post with a different id?

They can give the prize to him but people would have legitimate cause to complain to the IPM/ASA.

What exactly do those companies do? I once contacted the ASA because a company picked a fake winner. The said company just ended up awarding the prize to somebody else, claiming the original (fake) person didn't respond to them - but clearly it was because they had been reported.
That was end of story, nobody seemed to be bothered about the fact they they faked the winner in the first place.

Slap on the wrist, don't do it again is not uncommon but they have also helped people to get prizes they were awarded.
