Anyone else's EGGS taste funny?
Options
At first I thought it was just a bad batch. They didn't smell funny while being cooked, but the egg-white tasted horrible, so I threw them away.
Then when more tasted the same I tried a bit of the yolk and that was ok.
So I went to a different supermarket and bought the eggs with the longest date, and still the egg whites taste horrible, but the yolks are ok.
So could it be the heat that is causing it?
I always keep eggs in the fridge, but they are not stored in fridges before I get them home.
I know the shops are always cool, but I guess they are not refrigerated on the way to the supermarkets.
Anyone else's egg whites taste a bit funny?
thanks

Look at it this way... In a hundred years who's gonna care?

The real test would be to make meringues from the same batch and see if they taste unpleasant too.
If they're don't, I think you have your answer - meringues and fresh custard.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I doubt it, we've had hot spells many times in the past and nobody has mentioned it makes eggs taste funny.
Many other countries are hotter than here and they eat eggs in those countries.I always keep eggs in the fridge, but they are not stored in fridges before I get them home.
Eggs don't need to be kept in the fridge.0
