Destiny PS4 beta

Hi all,

If you are not already aware the destiny beta (bungies upcoming RPG/FPS game) is currently live.

If you have friends taking part in the beta ask them really nicely and see if they have spare codes (you get 3 per person).

Alternatively pre ordering the game gives you access to the beta which you could always cancel if you dislike the beta.

an easy way of trying before buying :beer:
personally i think its an exceptional game!

Playing it myself, and think it's an amazing game so far. It's a lot of fun playing it co-op.

like the millions that crashed PSN when beta downloads opened?...

I would challenge you to play destiny and deny that it withholds the standards required of a next gen game. Wipes the floor with all other current FPS games imo. besides... i think battlefield demonstrated nicely how easy it is to manage massive scale online play and how much fun that can be... are they still releasing patches or have they finally made a working game?


on an informitive note:

Beta is currently down until the 23rd when it will re open to playstation AND xbox users.

also a special event is taking place on the 26th at 10pm:


“especially on the 26th. You want to be there for that day,” came the reply. “Report for Beta testing duty at 2PM Pacific [10pm GMT]. Your rewards will be handsome and permanent.”

Destiny are taking full advantage of this beta.

We had an event just gone for new PvP maps in which equipment advantages were enabled with new rewards etc (unfortunately i didnt know about it and missed out)

So what could happen saturday?... no one knows but i would expect it to be something which will really test their servers. For that reason im putting my money on something large scale with a permanent end reward of some form of armour for the game when its released to show that you took part in the beta.

It would be nice if it was another mission with a large scale fight as they have advertised will happen in the game. I Will certainly be interested to find out.

in answer to your question though... yes its the place to be :cool: haha

This is good to hear - I have the Ghost edition pre-ordered.

I can't play the BETA, which I was looking forward to immensely, because my XBone has to go back for a repair - which is incredibly frustrating.

that sucks. not cool.

i have pre ordered standard but after enjoying it so much i may end up upgrading... we will see.

I really enjoyed the beta, but I've just learned that the final release will be online only - i.e. £30 a year to keep playing.

It was a great beta, but there are so many great games I haven't yet played that don't require Gold or Plus to keep playing. Sorry, Destiny - you're off my shopping list!

A lot of people just factor in the cost of Xbox Live and PSN anyway now.

In fairness though, Gold and Plus are required for next generation online gaming and Destiny always has been advertised as an online multiplayer experience, so I don't really see the issue. If you don't buy Gold or Plus as a matter of course (many do) and you otherwise wouldn't use it then fair enough, but both services come with far more wide reaching benefits than simply playing one game.
