Declined mortgage in principle

Hi
I had a mortgage application declined, single applicant looking to borrow £81K - £16k per annum job. A few hours later Halifax called and told me somebody had imputed the wrong details into the computer regarding our leasehold and it tipped me out of affordability, a big apology from the bank and a mortgage offer the next day.
Stick it out, they don't always get it right - I would try a broker too, do you care if it is "made up building society" lending you the money for your first home? once the keys are in your hand nobody can take it away and then you can concentrate for the next move when you come out of your interest fixed period.
Stay positive
