Hiya
In September I start a voluntary placement, plus college and I have three school ed children plus a dh. I'm looking to get a second freezer to fill with homemade ding meals for me and dh when he comes in from work. The kids are going to be on hot dinners at school and will be having something on toast plus a homemade pudding with milk and fruit for tea times.
What meals freeze well? So far I've got veg soup, bolognaise, chili and curry, and a lentil stew and a beef stew.
Thanks

Lasagna freezes well in portions. I make different types of it, like chicken tikka, bacon and cheese.
Pies and quiches freeze well and you can just serve them with a quick salad.
You can freeze mash with sliced meat in gravy. Then just cook your veg quickly to go with it.
HM pizza is always in my freezer for a quick Friday night treat.£36/£240

Fish pie freezes well. We make ours up to the final baking stage and then freeze.
I normally take it out of the freezer the night before. It defrosts in the fridge whilst we're at work and it's ready to bake in the oven when we get home.0 -
Am watching this with interest, I need exactly the same thing...0

I pretty much freeze anything provided it's not something like a stir fry that would take longer to defrost/reheat than make up again.
Soup, pasta, curries, roasts (usually I would cover the potatoes, veg and meat in gravy before freezing). I also like to freeze leftover meat such as Turkey, if I've say cooked up a breast for a stir fry I'll not use all the meat and just slice it up to throw in freezer. It's a quick way to add meat to other dishes.
I don't personally freeze tomato based pasta sauces, I like making a big batch and putting into a Kilner type jar or bottle in fridge. But I will freeze carbonated etc in batches and never seem to have an issue with the cream based sauce. You can however make the tomato sauces and freeze, a good way is to line a Tupperware dish use it like a giant ice cube tray and pop out the frozen sauce into a bag for easier stacking.
Don't forget hot desserts like bread and butter pudding freeze well too.
Pretty much I would say most things you eat (except for salad) can be frozen.
