Clear Acrylic Storage Unit - £5 - John Lewis (now in-store only, sold out online)

• Great for storing makeup, craft/hobby stuff etc or perhaps even for displaying small items for sale at craft fairs etc

I have a couple for make-up. Fits loads in - not worth £20 but great value for a fiver!

Instead of standing the unit up as intended, I have it sitting flat like an open-topped deep 'tray', without the white drawers, so it's basically just a plain clear acrylic tray with 2 large compartments (great for standing palettes on their end or chucking in lots of other bits) plus 3 smaller sections perfect for standing up brushes, mascaras, pencils etc.

Note: Website dims are wrong. Should say: L31 x W14 x D10.5cm (lying flat)

I also have a couple of the below one, again laid flat with the drawer discarded. It's v. fractionally larger than the other design and has just 3 large sections. Equally fab for £5 but probably not as ideal for makeup as it doesn't have the smaller compartments for standing up skinny items (mine are used for craft bits & bobs):

Official MoneySavingExpert insert: We contacted John Lewis and it told us the item was available at this price while stocks last and that there's a decent number available currently. The price is the same in-store as online

The 5 compartment version is out of stock on the website (may be worth trying in store if you can?) but the 3 compartment one is still available online, the "2 Shelf Unit, 1 Drawer" version.

Sturdy acrylic items can be really expensive, especially retail display kit, if anyone sells stuff for a living etc.
