Alternative to Payplan?

I have been with an agreement with payplan for about 5 years. Until about a year ago I never had a problem and things ran very smoothly. Now I am getting letters and real problems with my creditors and then with payplan and am getting really frustrated and upset by the situation.

Having conversations with both sides and then noting happens, and I get more nasty letters! When I am paying the correct amount (the amount I can afford!) each month without fail.

So are there any other organisations who do what payplan do for free?

Has there been a change in your circumstances? Are you paying less now that you were? This can be the reason why the creditors are no longer happy with lower payments. I would speak to Payplan again and ask for a manager to look at your case. It seems a shame to have to set everything up again if you have been paying for 5 years.

They had the details worng with one of my creditors, the amount they had that I owed them was wrong by about £2000, so they did have to reduced payments to the other creditors as it is done on a pro-rata basis.

I have explianed this to the creditors as did Payplan but they are not happy. I am just not sure how many more conversations I can have with rude people in collection departments saying the same thing. I have paid back £11,138.93 over 5 years to them all and none of them will even give me a break with paying them off the last amounts - some are a few hundred £'s. Fair enough I will pay them every penny back but some are now charging more interest than I am paying a month so the amount goes furter and furthr into debt. Making it alomost pointless in paying it back at all!

Sorry for th3e rant, jsut feeling very emotional about it all this morning and so sick of the threatening letters after all this time. I rang one company there who sent me through a rude letter this morning saying I was in arrears of £24 (I didn't know how I could be as payplan made the same payment to them) and they said oh no, you aren't actualy in arrears, the payment might have been delayed so its fine. GRRR!!!!

Sorry to hear that, you have done really well paying so much off. Try not to let the creditors get to you. It is a shame the balance was wrong to start with and the lower payments must have set all this off then. I can only advice you to not get upset by the phone calls. Change your number that the easiest way to stop it. If you can't do that just tell them Payplan is dealing and they should speak to them. Hope it gets better soon. Hang in there.
