Hello fellow savers,
Looks like I'm going to start one of these old-fangled debt free diary things, even though my debt is really only a technicality at the moment.
I have a few grand on a 0% credit card and more-or-less the same amount in my bank account. So *assuming nothing goes wrong* I should be able to pay that off when the 0% wears off and the company starts trying to rob me.
The problem I *do* have is the lack of savings, which leaves me in a truly awful position of constant financial anxiety. I worry to the point of sickness that a massive bill will be around the corner and wipe me out which would then of course snowball.
So my goal is two-fold... save up an emergency fund, and somehow get a house deposit together so that I can stop throwing my money into the sun every month.
I was actually doing quite well right up until recently, having started saving (I guess you could call it my lightbulb moment) in February an average of £330 a month, though that required absolutely *no* spending on anything but the essentials.
Unfortunately, this was all pretty much undone by the horror-show that was June. That blasted month cost me pretty much the entirety of my savings. Grr.
I guess, on the plus side, the fact that I had been saving stopped me from falling into debt (barely) but it leaves me back at step one, and this time I intend to make it count!

Gah! My last post didn't work! Curses! I typed it all up just to be told that it needed to be at least 10 characters.
Day 3 didn't go so well.
Managed to grab a couple hours of overtime at work, though I was quickly snapped up to do something other than what I came in for. On the plus side this means I'll be able to pull a few more overtime hours this week.
Car keeps breaking down and the mechanic at work suggested I bring it to his buddy to look at as he has a magic box that'll be able to tell me what the problem is... Needless to say, it didn't work. He still managed to charge me 20 quid for it though.
Got home and needed to do some quick silicon application in my shower for the first time in my life. I somehow forgot to unseal the inner seal and quickly broke the container. I managed to get over this and complete the job with flossing harps, but still a huge pain. Guess you have to make these mistakes to learn from the though....
I've put in an application for a new 0% spending credit card (the 123 Santander one as I have a matching bank account) to replace the Tesco one when it expires. Hopefully that'll get accepted as the pressure will be off for a year.
I feel completely crushed right now so I think that'll be just about all I can manage tonight. Time to hunt down a cup of tea and try to relax before sleep.Savings goal for 2015!£8,487.85/£3,600 - 2014

As it turns out, I suck at this. Was planning it to be a once a day thing but my brain won't remind me to post.
Damn brain.
So this post is technically for yesterday...
Day 5.
Not much has changed. Car remains broken and the mechanic now suggest buying a new sensor for the crank shaft. That's another 17 quid gone. This car is going to be the end of me.
Also paid 115 towards a holiday in October.
My new credit card was approved! That should take the pressure off, though I need to pay attention to it to make sure that it doesn't cause me more problems later on.
Managed to pick up another hour of overtime, and I'll be able to do more on Friday hopefully.
Really looking forward filing out my spending tracker at the end of the month. I may even end up with some excess funds this month if I'm lucky.Savings goal for 2015!£8,487.85/£3,600 - 2014
