Hi there,
I am assuming that this is a long distance learning course? If so, you should have been assigned a personal tutor /contact for advice and support. You should contact them in the first instance. You could also try finding out their head office number and phoning through to that. Without knowing the specifics of the company or what it is you are actually trying to get them to do, it's a bit hard to advise beyond this!0 -
Hi thanks for the advise, yes it's a long distance course, my assigned tutor is useless, to say the least! They are now on holiday. I really don't want to name the company as I work in the industry and in gyms they have assessor in, I know they claim to confidential and professional, in dealings but from first hand experience know they are not. Now doing research and digging, found an article in menshealth from a few years back about this firm and it's failings, if only I,d seen this before I signed up. I am also compiling a list of errors they have made to be posted, so others would not be put in the same position as I am in. But let's say the company is very well known for personal training graduates and have been around the longest I think In the uk. I have phoned the head office several times phone rings no answer or office closed and when they answer its always an excuse, results not in or bits of work missing, resubmitted work that was missing but would have to pay for resubmission catch one. Did that ! still waiting weeks now. I feel cheated to say the least, £3 grand and counting. I thought of cancelling my DD but know they would say its a breach of contract. I have also spoken to a friend who has a PT partner and was told they are going through the same thing with them. So my case is not an isolated one.0

Are you doing the PT diploma or certificate? I assume its the diploma due to the price. Ive not done my PT cert yet but I have done a few level 3s. I did my outdoor fitness level 3 with the YMCA, there were problems on that course due to short staffing but thats one of the few issues I ever had with them. We did our assessment and got the results that day. Ive also done my level 3 nutrition and weight management, case study submitted online and the exam done under exam conditions and a matter of waiting for the cert from CYQ.
With your A and P level 3 again as you'll know better than me Im sure, its a matter of waiting for your results, but the practical assessment results should be given to you the day you sit the exam
If you do the gym level 3 theory, practical and you have your nutrition and have passed all of these, youve already got the level 3 PT cert. The qualification changed a few years back so the rest of the modules that people had to do are now additional.
What results are you still waiting on? Ive booked onto do my level 3 PT cert and I paid just over £1200, its a lot of money to pay out if you arent satisfied with the quality of the teaching, but its difficult to give you advice when you havent actually said what parts of the qualification you still need to finish to get your cert or diploma.0 -
Hi again! Don't worry, I totally understand why you don't want to name the company! The only thing I can suggest is that you have a look at the terms and conditions of your contract with them. There should be something in there about their duty of care or their responsibilities to you. I would then write a letter to head office, stating all of their failings and referencing the relevant sections in the t&c's. Tell them that they have failed in their duty of care to you and that you require a response within 7 days addressing the issues or you will take the matter further.
Are you a member of reps? You could also try approaching then and seeing if they could give you some pointers on how to resolve this. I am sure they have probably dealt with similar matters before.
Really hope you get this sorted!0
