Hi, Can anyone tell me were to find the detailed stars I have been left by buyers please. Until yesterday it popped up when I went to my seller dashboard but that changed today and I can't find the reports.

I'm one the edge of falling down a standard because I sold a lot last summer but I'm not planning to sell again until October the percentages will increase

You seem one of the nicer forum members, who aren't quick to judge and mock others.

But I just find buyers get a fair whack of abuse on here. If we aren't thick, were trying to ruin accounts. Were not allowed to leave nothing but 5* and if we dare complain, well then we should be banned and mocked and have stones throw at us. Oh and of course, were all scammers. Pretty much how it comes across on here.

Defects are eBay's rules. If a buyer isn't fully happy. Then it's not really there fault how eBay decide what stars are good or bad. Yes there's obviously some malicious buyers. But there's also pretty bad sellers.

Buyers are still your bread and butter, so sellers coming on here abusing them. Well then, they don't really deserve to have buyers.

There are amazing sellers, some are really lovely. But me as a buyer and a seller. I have noticed the standard has gone down a hell of a lot. So my feedback will reflect this!
I value all Of my buyers and in over 10,000 feedback, don't have a single negative or neutral (over 12 years selling I have only ever had 2 negs and 1 neutral) and I certainly don't think my buyers are thick

What I do object to is the underhand way eBay are implementing these defects. In the majority of cases ( like mine), the buyer simply wanted to ask a question and eBay have tricked them into opening a case

This whole defect thing is alienating sellers and causing problems for buyers. We can only get one defect per transaction, so some sellers are of the opinion that there is no point trying to resolve a problem as they already have a defect

I am happy for any buyer to leavers stars and feedback if it is deserved, but when a sellers acount is put at risk merely by a buyer asking a question, is madness !

You can say "I told you so", ten years late mind;)
They're heading to be big sellers, Argos et al and a few items a month private sellers.
They've got big competition on the way (Alibaba and Google) but oddly enough they all seem to be after the same kind of trade. A decent marketplace for SMEs would be a nice idea.
My thoughts are that a couple of shop providers, such as Shopify, EKM, Volusion, etc could get together for a combined plug in/app to work with Facebook or Google Shopping.
I think things will stagger on until Christmas as it is now and something might appear early next year but things happen so quickly that it could be sooner.
I'm working on something new that should take me out of selling altogether, I'm opening an Ebid store (first bit true, second a joke!)

All ebay sellers abuse the system?

Ebay abused it's sellers to the point where few are left, and the ones that are are counting their days.

There must be some reason why nobody big has cloned ebay.

Back in the day it was a massive money earner, although now they seem to see paypal as the new cash cow, so who no tescos online auctions?

Ebay abused it's sellers to the point where few are left, and the ones that are are counting their days.

Whilst I am actively looking for a second (and more) selling venue I would not agree that few sellers are left. I don't believe the numbers have actually changed a lot, I think that sellers are protecting themselves by finding other sites to work alongside eBay.

Yes there are quite a number looking at potentially losing their accounts come August, but still a small percentage overall and they are being replaced by new sellers joining up all the time.

Things are changing and if RFW is correct then perhaps some proper alternative sites in a year or so might actually calm eBay down a bit.

There's no doubt that Ebay Inc see Paypal as where the money is, Paypal's earnings are expanding at a faster rate than ever. They seem to have mobile payments covered and all other financial institutions are playing catch up. I can see Amazon challenging Paypal at some point, probably not too far away.

As for auctions being a cash cow they really aren't, they're a good gimmick and there's money in it but they're difficult to manage, especially as consumer laws are now catching up to them.
None of the other upcoming marketplaces even consider auctions.

The other problem with auctions is the sellers (mostly) don't use them properly, they need to be low start and no reserve and the chance of a bargain. Most are now clued up to not do that, they'll start at what they want the item to sell for, so most auctions don't return a sale. When I started on Ebay I was at the tail end of my own auction house, I started all auctions at 99p and they achieved a good market rate, some went low, some went high, I sold pretty much everything I listed. I can't do that any more, I won't get the prices. The point of that is that a worthwhile online auction site won't work now, there needs to be too much investment to get buyers in. There are probably a few markets that they still work in that a few niche sites could join up with.

I can't see an auction site ever again working the way Ebay did 10/12 years ago, no big company would want to waste their money and no small company could ever make it work.

It's marketing, all I ever read, and have done for years, is people pleading for a new sales venue.

I'm not sure the law has changed all that much, ebay seem to force private sellers to accept returns and take paypal payments, but there's no real law that insists on this?
