disclosure scotland check

Hi

I have applied for a call centre job (telecommunications) and have been offered a position subject to satisfactory reference checks and disclosure Scotland check.

I am unsure as to what exactly shows up on this disclosure report.

I am a bankrupt (in may of this year) so not discharged, and I have been banned from driving in my younger years (over 15 years ago) via the courts.

will these 2 show up on the report? because I really want this job.

am I worried over nothing or will bankruptcy/driving ban be an issue ( the job is neither driving related nor financial, though I may deal with billing enquiries).

Thanks

Disclosure Scotland is the Scottish equivalent of the CRB. What is disclosed depends on what is requested :-

They won't disclose your bankruptcy (or Scottish equivalent) because that is not a criminal offence. But it's a matter of public record anyway. So they can find out if they want. Do you have any reason to believe it might be an issue?

I don't think my bankruptcy should be an issue, Its through an agency and I never mentioned to them, nor did they ask about bankruptcy. but I just wanted to ease my mind as I want this job.

I take it the driving ban is not an issue either then? or is that a criminal offence that will show up?

Bankruptcy won't be a problem, I've gone through all sorts of checks for work and it's never been an issue. I'm not sure on the driving because it is a criminal offence, but depends on how far back and whether it's still relevant. I doubt it'll flag on a Basic, but would show up on Enhanced I'd imagine. To put your mind at ease give them a call and they'll can tell you
    Feb 2024:
    CC1 6537.66
    CC2 7804.45
    CC3 4221.17
    CC4 2053.68
    CC5 989.30
    Loan 1 3686.44
    Loan 2 5275.22

    Total £30,567.92

sorry, give who a call? disclosure Scotland? I don't think the application has been submitted yet. my interview was only yesterday but on the application form I put down that I have no criminal convictions ( I didn't realise my 2 bans would be criminal to be honest) and there over 15 years ago... but im kind of panicking now.

plus I don't know if its a basic check or an enhanced check.

is there no time limit from when there no longer an issue? 15 years is a long time.

(sorry for continuing this on the bankruptcy section)
