Home grown food always tastes so much better than the supermarket version doesn't it and it's so rewarding to grow it yourself. I've just picked my first courgette of the year and I'm looking forward to turning it into something yummy.
Sorry to hear about your health and work stress. A big well done on continuing with your journey to mortgage freedom!

A very tired Cookie here today as wee cookie was ill during the night. He is sleeping now so hopefully will feel better when he wakes up. Thankfully I am on holiday so can take it easy today. It has been a while since I posted so a quick update is in order. We are still taking our small steps to be MF. I had a very small pay rise so I am saving that in the emergency funds whilst still making our OPs. I have made the OP towards our first part of the mortgage as it is on a slightly higher rate so it is good to see it come down over time. I recall when I first started making OPs and wondering if I would ever see the effect but as many have said before me it is a marathon not a sprint.
The decluttering is going fairly well. I have managed to cut down my things but need to sort through wee cookie's again and drop off them to charity. I used the Energy Saving Club to get a good deal on my gas/electric and will get some cashback in due course. We have all had colds so the heating is on now.
My no buying new clothes rule is getting a bit harder to stick to. I did get a new swimsuit in the summer as my old one had seen better days. Now I am looking at my workwear for the winter. It is going to be hard not to buy new trousers and skirts. I may try out wearing a jumper over some of my lighter dresses to see how that looks. Slighter harder is the boots as my knee high books were recycled at the end of last winter now I have just black ankle boots, brown riding boots and my snow boots.
My tomato plant has done me proud and provide us with lots and lots of tomatoes. The herbs are still doing well. It is so nice to be able to grow them rather than buy them. Hopefully there will not be a sudden frost in the near future. Meal planning is going quite well. I am looking forward to some homemade soup at lunchtime as I need some comfort food today!MFW 91 op 2014 £410/1000

Well it has been a while. Still making those small steps and hope to get a new rate soon so should be able to increase the OPs a bit more. We had to get a new car so less OPs than I would like but slowly getting there. Menu planning and batch cooking still going well. I am glad we were doing this prior to lockdown as it did make things easier to cope with. I need to make soup today as OH is still WFH so that should be ok for lunch with a bagel. I am trying to be healthy so it is greek salad and red onion and rosemary muffins for my packed lunch whilst little cookie has a flask of pasta in his. Managed to get plants delivered at start of lockdown so had lots of lettuce and now the tomatoes are doing well.MFW 91 op 2014 £410/1000
