Dentures/Bridges - Can they be done on NHS?

I guess what I was getting at was that I wouldn't be considering spending significant money on implants for instance myself if id only looked after my teeth. I know some people need some intensive treatments through no fault of their own - implants would be a godsend to them.0

I don't think I will ever get them to fit correctly I do manage but have to use a fixing paste, which while it isn't the best way, it does work even if I have to do every time I eat. At least they don't hurt :rotfl:Treat other's how you like to be treated.

I had all my top teeth removed last January.
there was absolutely no way they could be saved and the gaps, loose teeth and appearance were making life miserable.
I had NHS temporary dentures fitted that became looser and looser as my gums shrank so I found a licensed dental technician who relined them twice until I was ready for him to make me a perm top set.
He would not consider this for over 8 months until he thought I was ready and we worked together on this
It took 5 visits where he made absolutely sure the denture I was having fitted perfectly and two further visits after they were completed to get small things sorted.
It was the best thing I ever did, the cost was £600 for top of the range but the dentures are guaranteed for at least 7 years, they look so real no one would ever guess and I can comfortably eat anything I want to.
I don't have to use any fixatives .
I would never consider or be able to afford implants but I do value and look after my bottom teeth after having to go through this.
Dentures are not the end of the world and sometimes if your teeth are so bad they cannot be saved and make your life uncomfortable ,dentures can actually make a huge improvement to your life .
Harrys Nan find a licensed dental technician in your area, You should not have to be struggling with fixatives and poorly fitting dentures.

Implants are worth every penny! I have had bottom implants - cost 16K and plan to have top ones done at a slightly higher cost - they have transformed my life!! Can't stand dentures - made my life a misery. Just wish I had looked after my own teeth and gums better though..0
