Council Tax arrears

I have around £300 in council tax arrears. They haven't started getting really threatening yet but i have had written reminders and warnings of legal action. Was just wondering if council tax can be negotiated to be paid in instalments (arrears that is - I know the tax itself can be paid monthly or whatever). I'm calling them on MOnday and I want to be fully armed!

Hi Kat79 :hello:
the council tax debt is definately one not to ignore. They will take action and councils do not normally mess around. They will let you spread the arrears and will welcome contact from you so get in touch on Monday and Im sure they will let you set up a repayment plan with them.

If you make the move to speak to them and to try and sort it out, then they will be likely to be amenable to you.
If you let them continue chasing you, they will lose patience far quicker, which is less easy to then turn around.
Ring on Monday morning, or e-mail them now, and follow it up with a phone call on Monday morning.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Thanks! Treadmill - I was wondering if they'd let me do that, it would certainly make life a lot easier!
