I'm sure we waste energy - sons have TV's and computers in their rooms, I sometimes resort to the tumble dryer, I don't always think about making best use of the cooker when it is on and so forth.

We turn off the oven/cooker/hob five mins before the end of cooking time and let the food cook in the residual heat. Cut 20% off our cooking bill.
Also downloaded a free App onto our mobile phones etc that sounds an alarm when charging battery to say it's fully charged. Alarm doesn't stop til you unplug it. The one we use is in the Google Play Store under "Battery 100% Alarm" by Appeteria.
When you boil a kettle put the unused hot water in a flask for later use. Apologies can't recall which forum regular I stole that idea from!Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -

I also definitely need to start taking meter readings more often (need to stand on head with a torch in mouth to get the gas one which is a bit offputting) and try to educate myself better.

Make yourself a torch headband with a piece of elastic. Google "torch headband" to see what I mean. I use one for mountaineering.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0
