The employer should already have been notified of the nature of the grievance. At the meeting you present your statement of case in a factual manner, the employer then notifies you of the outcome. Thats the short version.

Was the employer aware of your grievance before you left employment?

i was dismissed the end of may for depression, i appealed against there decision,i went to CAB to see an employment adviser, they were really helpful
they sent the letter to my ex-employer regarding the grievance, on the grounds of reasonable adjustements, will they let me know the decision on the day of the hearing.

I agree with oreally; it depends on whether the company was aware of the grievance before you left.

Unfortunately, I had to start tribunal proceedings against my former employer but that was for my redundancy and months salary (which would have been due anyway), as they didnt pay me when the whole company pay date was. Some companies are not scrupulous, they use it, as some do with holding P45's ...

Sorry cant be of more help.

Just read your post whilst I was typing, you should speak to your employer and explain face to face and give them your doctors details. I am sure your doctor can do something.

Was the appeal upheld? (i'm guessing not).

Are you sure that this isn't the appeal hearing? I'm only wondering because 'grounds of lack of reasonable adjustments' sounds like something that should have been covered off in the appeal.
