Belgium Beer - cheap anywhere?

I enjoy my nice beers - a nice Westmalle Dubbel can make my night.
However, I find them very expensive. Most stores stock mainly lagers but start to stock a few Belgium beers. I also looked at the site below, but 1.49 for a Leffe Blond or 2.45 for a Westmalle Dubbel is too expensive. Tesco currently offers 3 Leffe for 3 pounds which is more my thing.
Has anybody any other ideas/experiences?
Thanks!

^^^^^^^ I think those are just the stubbies. However ASDA also do speciality belgian beers and cheaper than the prices given by OP
see here0 -
Asda Belgian lager is 4 proper size cans of 5% decent beer, properly shrink wrapped, and although I have some most weeks, my fuddled brain can't remember the price! It's far less than the normal so-called premium lagers though. They also do packs of stubbies, 10 for about 3.60ish. Aldi also do a Belgian lager, besides the German ones, and indeed Dutch, all at very good prices. Lidl of course also do some very nice bottles of German beer, but beware the cheapo tins, they're pretty vile. You are probably looking for the larger bottles of quality stuff, I suppose, but Aldi also do a 5litre keg of German beer at £10.00, with a built-in tap. Don't know how long it would keep once opened, but with the tap widget, it should last a while.0

I seem to remember someone saying on one of the lidl/aldi threads that lidl's belgian beer (£2.79 for 4 cans I think??) is imported from the stella brewery in Belgium, so not your Luton brewed stuff I think...
I've only drank it once or twice but it seemed pretty nice to me:beer:You can't go wrong with carpet bombing...0 -

Sorry but for a premium beer you have to pay a premium price most of the time best to look out for any offers then stock up.(Unless bottled conditioned live beers).
The beers you are talking about are imported and strong in alcohol content and are not mass marketed beers which keeps the price high, but these sort of beers you are talking about are dirt cheap in my opinion, years ago I use to go to Belgium for a weekend just to get these sort of beers.0 -

It is well worth considering a trip to France to stock up as these are so much cheaper over there. I have a diesel car which does around 55mpg, me and a mate share the load and driving, costs around £20 each in petrol from Shropshire, crossing paid for with Tesco vouchers (Eurotunnel) costs £13-15 in vouchers converted to £52-60 in Deals. So it costs us about £25-30 each and we have a great day out and bring back a stash of very cheap wine and beer. We do this every 4-5 months. Keep under the guidelines and don't go every week and you'll have no problems.
Have a look at www.daytripper.net for some websites etc.

Aldi also do a Belgian lager,
Yep, St Etienne, made in Leuven/Louvain, home of Stella Artois, 4*500ml for £2.79
Aldi also had a very nice Belgian abbey beer:
"Ry Ternel", 6*250ml for £2.99
It's now discontinued (!!!!!!), but some stores may still have it. It was brewed by the small private brewery Lefebvre in Rebecq-Quenast, near Brussels. They made it undercover for Brasserie St Omer, who distribute it. St Omer are the ones behind all the supermarket French lagers.
Sainsbury's now sell a Belgian "abbey beer" distributed by St Omer. My bet is that it's absolutely identical with Aldi's discontinued "Ry Ternel", same stuff, same source, just a new contract. Sainsbury charge a pound more, of course, so it's 6*250ml for £3.99.
Nevertheless, a very nice brown 6% Belgian brown abbey beer, quite sweetish on the tongue with a well balanced bitterness in aftertaste. Maybe not completely on the same level with Leffe brune or Artois Bock, but absolutely fine for the price.
Last time I checked (Thursday 12 July) Sainsbury's were still doing Artois Bock (InBev, home of Stella) for 84p ber bottle.0 -

Best to buy 3 or 4 crates at a time as postage is a few quid, but worth it, generally delivered within one to two days.
My source for Cruzcampo...mmmmmm.0
