Winner...or not?

So last week I had a message left on my mobile saying I "may" be the winner of a prize as my name had been chosen but that they needed to check some details before announcing me as the winner officially. Said they were emailing me a form to complete.

Scam I hear you say..(and that's what I thought as well). But email arrived and it was from a legitimate competition - they wanted to check DOB and address and had a phone number so called and spoke to a lady who confirmed my name had been chosen first and that after the necessary paperwork had been completed, I'd be sent the prize.

Sent necessary paperwork showing my address and DOB which they acknowledged ....and not heard a thing since. I've sent 2 emails (first asking if they needed anything else from me) and one yesterday asking if there had been an update). Was going to wait till next Monday to phone or should I try phoning tomorrow? According to the t&cs of the comp they were picking 3 people - one winner and 2 reserves. If the first person couldn't supply necessary proof then the next person would be awarded. Would hate to lose prize as have complied fully with their t&cs...

Suggestions?

I would try phoning. Be polite and what do you have to lose?

how long did they say it would be ? they may be waiting for all prize winners to comply before sending them out

There was one big prize winner plus 100 runners up. They were picking 3 first prize winners (in order 1,2,3) and if the first person didnt comply with the T&CS and provide proof etc, the second person would be awarded the prize and so on...).

I was told I had been chosen first so was the "winner" as long as I completed the paperwork. I emailed something with my address and DOB within the timeframe they gave so thought they'd come back straight away saying, yep...it's you but they haven't.

I've been off work on sick leave so this felt like a little boost but now I'm fearing I'll miss out and they've allocated the prize to someone else. I'm probably jumping the gun and its all in hand but the last few weeks have been really horrible and I sooo need something nice...

The confirmation email said they'd check and get back to me...but they haven't (no time frame given)

I'd be contacting them if it were me. I would be worried that my reply had been overlooked.
