Hi, I was wondering whether anyone might be able to give me some advice. In 2010 I was made redundant from my job and defaulted on my unsecured debts. I have had a couple of jobs that lasted about a year, which meant for about half the time since then I was able to pay about £200 a month towards my debts, otherwise I have been making token payments. However, I have also been able to make the necessary lifestyle changes to live within my means.
My total debts are £45,800 and I will soon be starting a new job which means I will have just over £300 a month spare, which would take 12.5 years to clear the debts in total. I plan to write to my creditors with an updated offer of payment. One of my debts has been sold on to a third party and another does not have the CCA, though I have continued to make payment. Between them they sum to £26,000.
A friend of mine has offered to lend me £5000 if this will clear the debt or at least a large chunk of it - do you think it is worthwhile making a pro-rata offer to all my creditors or just focus on the two I mentioned above?
I can't really consider bankruptcy due to my job.
Many thanks in advance

When are the default dates? 2010?
When were the accounts taken out?
Have you CCAd them all (especially pre April 2007)?
I would immediately stop paying the one without the CCA if pre April 2007. Let them stew for a while or sell it on then offer 15% full and final as a starter. They may occasionally need reminding that no CCA means they are stuffed.:beer:0
