  • 1st one was Coventry I think, 2nd was Accord.

He seemed to think because we have been approved by accord we would be ok santander.

3 credit searches over a year - ignore my last comment about that, I thought it was 3 in a short space of time.

I dont think I would be touching Santander for this either.

Accord! Are you kidding? I wouldnt send those amateurs the most straight forward case in the world! Im not surprised you have been crying, the last time I used Accord I was too! Infact I go through a whole host of emotions with Accord - dread, anger, fear to name a few. I actively avoid them.

This is one for the other brokers, but are coventry any good for debts in the background? I always thought they were a bit mean on affordability?

Is your broker chasing rates rather than ensuring the job gets done?

Santander are not known for being easy to deal with, quick or lenient.

  • No not all, he was suggesting Santander as they have no survey fee and since we have paid out for 3 surveys so far he thought it would be best since this house has already been downvalued once, if santander downvalue it we won't have lost any more money. Plus we kept pushing for a 5year fixed rather then a 2 year.

We do just want the job done but we don't want to keep losing money and be stuck paying a ridiculous rate

Surprisingly im over it... I just do not send them any business anymore and would rather lose the client than deal with them.

What lenders never grasp is they lose the deal but you may lose the client for life.

  • The AIP has been approved for Santander. Broker said that before the news rules came in that Santander were a nightmare to deal with, but since the new rules etc they have been better :) Fingers crossed for a good valuation.

NB I have heard alot of bad things about Accord, but only problem we had with them was the downvaluations, which was quite a big stumbling block really!

A triumph of optimism over experience if he believes Santander are improving.
