    Surely the only time someone would ever offset their mortgage is when the interest rate on the mortgage is more than the interest your savings could be receiving elsewhere?

    eg our mortgage rate is 0.95%, we have savings in 3-4% ISA's so it would be silly to offset in our case.

    I doubt you're in the majority, I'm paying 3.99% and can't find better than about 1.5% on a non-fixed ISA (and nowhere near 4% even fixed...)
