  • Hi good luck with your overpaying - we seem to have similar morg obligations and similar timeframe left to pay it too ! Yes it does get addictive - as one of the previous posters pointed out each pound paid off is roughly equal to 2 pound in the long term.

Hi love your name! It's always nice to meet other MFWs in the same situation and at the same stage. Do you have a diary?
  • Hi Missu, good luck with your plans, it does get a little addictive, but in a good way :)

    Best wishes Tilly

Thanks Tilly!! I'm addicted already even more so than clearing the cc.

  • Hello again diary :)

My budget tells me that my last credit card balance of about £1500 will be cleared at my next pay day, 25th of this month. So from December and more seriously in January, I can really start to make a dent in my mortgage :). I'm going to save alongside OPs to avoid the overpayment charge so that at the end of the fixed rate term I'll have a lump sum to clear the highest interest rate part of the balance
  • Hi all

Just an update on my mfw diary. I'm now debt free, got through Christmas on budget and I'm planning my finances for next year.
My plan is to overpay by £750 per month. That should bring down my balance steadily and I should manage it comfortably
