Credit Fix Agency

I have recently been contacted by a company called Credit Fix who say there is a government scheme available that can write off a lot of my debt. I would have to pay a payment for 5 years after which my credit rating would be restored. I can't take on any more credit in the five years which is fine with me.
Does anyone know anything about this company or the scheme? Is it a good idea? I am struggling to pay my debts although I am paying them off slowly, but it would free up a lot of my income so I can move forward in my life.

They will be charging for this 'service' which means that your debts will be decreasing MUCH more slowly than if you went with one of the free services who offer EXACTLY THE SAME THING such as stepchange or payplan.
The only word that comes to mind is 'AVOID'.There are 10 types of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who do not. :doh:0 -

Its called an Individual voluntary arrangement (IVA) next step down from Bankruptcy, don't be fooled by any of these so called "debt write off" firms, Google "IVA" if you want the facts, its an option for some people, but not all, don't be tempted to say yes to anyone who rings you up like this, do some research for your self first, then if you decide its for you, contact a reputable insolvency practitioner for more information, also National debtline, or stepchange give good advice to.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
