I wanna buy a ride on car

Options
I have been looking to buy a ride on car for my son who is 2. I noticed that some that are 6V state its only 3km/h max and some of the 6V state that its max 6km/h. All have different speeds. I was under the assumption that 6V battery cars are slow and the 12V are faster.

Can anyone help me understand? Mega confused

Not always. It depends how the cars are geared and how accurate the manufacturers figures are.

A 12v battery should provide more power and torque with the right motor.

But if the motors are cheaply made you may get one with a lot more power or a lot less.

The smaller the battery and motor the more the riders weight will become an issue. It may still reach the stated speed but the battery may only last half as long.

I run 24 volt scooter batteries at 12 volts and they provide more than enough power for most needs.
