Remorgaging after period abroad

Hi All,
I'm really eager to remortgage after having been stuck on a terrible SVR (6.15%) for a number of years now.
The tricky part is that i've been working abroad for the last 2 years (renting my property out whilst away). I've just moved back into the property this week and so i'm wondering how long I should wait before commencing to apply for a new mortgage deal.
Some more details:
* I am now employed in the UK (but by a foreign employer) and on a salary which puts me well within affordability criteria for the mortgage
* My spending levels also are not high
* I have had a bank account/UK financial presence whilst working abroad
* I get paid fortnightly and have 3 payslips so far since moving back to the UK
I'm keen to get off this terrible rate as soon as possible - so I suppose a key question for me is if I should be concerned about getting a rejected application. Will that negatively impact me? Thus should I err on the side of having more 'history' since I moved back?
Any help appreciated (as you can tell, i'm keen to move off this rate asap!)
