Hi
I'm looking to apply for a first time mortgage and am currently renting the property I'm in now. How would this affect my mortgage application and any recommendations on who to apply with.
Thanks

Shouldn't affect your mortgage at all. I've rented for the last 9 years and I'm in the process of buying our first house.
The important points will be whether you are on the electoral roll at your current address, your financial history and the affordability of the mortgage.
Good luck.Geek by Nature.. Geek by Profession!

Agree with all the above. I too am a FTB and currently in rented. It comes down to affordability and if anything, showing that you can manage your finances etc to address bills at your rented accommodation (assuming all is in order) should be a good thing.0

Things that many people in rented don't do is to go on the electoral roll and update all their details with all banks, credit card companies etc.
Have you done this as these are key for a mortgage provider in building a view on your creditworthiness.0
