working out take home pay

if someone is getting paid £10 per hour, doing a 40 hour week, how much would thier take home pay be roughly??

i have a job and im on £10 ph doing a 40 hour week and i came home with £316 if that helpsopinions are like **seholes,everybody has got one and they all stink!

I put your figures in and it gave take home pay of £306.25 after £60.75 had been deducted for income tax and £33 for NI0 -
Have just used the brilliant calculator just above.
have just started working part time - currently only between 12 and 15 hours a week on £7.50 ph. I assumed i would pay NI if not tax but according to the calculator that is not the case. Does this mean I would need to fund NI contributions myself to keep my pension up to date??Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend0
