I've just read on here that some lenders look unfavourably as to how much available credit you may have.
I have no idea if I have any old credit cards still open, but just wondered how I would check. I haven't used a credit card in years, but I did have a fair few in my 20s.

Check the 3 CRA's online (Callcredit, Equifax and Experian)
Callcredit is free via their noddle service
Experian and Equifax you can sign up for 30 days free (then remember to cancel)
Or you could write to all three and ask for your statutory report for £20 -
The only way is a credit report - that will show any open lines of credit.
It's probably safe to assume that if it's not on any credit report and it's older than 6yrs, that it's been closed down by now. Banks are quite good at following up on money owed to them...I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Oh, I know I don't owe any money on any credit cards, just didn't know if I still have the credit available on them. I have lived at my house for 8 years now, so I'm sure they would have let me know if I had any debt on them.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Okay, I've done the 30 days free one, so just have to remember to cancel it. It says that I have available credit of £14,671 excluding my mortgage. But I have no clue where this is from!
And my credit score is 984 (excellent), so this is good, right?Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Noddle is Callcredits online service.
Credit scores are meaningless ignore them.
There should be some sort of drop down or pop out menu that will let you see who your credit providers are.0
