Thanks all. Has anyone used the method of applying to roots, then all the hair at the end ? Does it work OK ?0

I've gone back to nice and easy but it seems to fade really quickly on me.
I was using garner nutrisse I only stopped because the shop I was in only had nice and easy and I was desperate! As I used to use it I thought what the heck and it often has good deals.
Might try home highlights just seen an advert on the tv for a new one that looks quite easy to use…I'm a sucker for cleaver advertising!
Would that be L'oreal Glam Highlights?
Tried it, turned my hair BRIGHT orange and I've since spent £60 on dyes trying to fix it and remove the brassyness.
My hair was dark blonde to start with.0 -

Thanks, will steer clear then!0 -

i only use semi-permanent colours, I have dark brown hair and using light brown/reds lightens my hair considerably (even more in summer, when my hair lightens anyway).0 -
Can I ask you knowledgeable people a quick question? I haven't dyed my hair at home for years and there's a new issue to deal with since then, greys!
I've just put a semi-permanent Boots Botanics on, but its only covered about 70% of the grey, with a few really noticeable ones left at the front.
I think I may need a permanent colour to get rid of the little !!!!!!s. How long do I need to wait before putting one over the top? My hair's in fairly good condition, but it is quite fine and breaks/tangles more easily than average, I'd say.
I'm feeling impatient, I want to do it tomorrow!0 -

I have had similar problems with Boots Botanics and my hair is similar to yours....I have a little cluster of grey hairs in my fringe that are very resistant to dye although Nice and Easy works well. It is frustrating but I have always waited until at least 10 washes before re-applying due to the chemical onslaugt on my hair and head!0 -
You could try 'nice and easy root touch up' for the grey at your temple.0

Please don't shoot the messenger…
The general consensus is, if you have used a colour which contains peroxide (basically anything which comes in two bottles that you have to mix) then you should wait a month before doing it again. This gives your hair a good chance to rest between "processes" and you are much less likely to irreparably damage your locks.
That said, as you haven't coloured you hair in years, I would probably give in to my impatient side and do it much sooner
I would highly recommend the Nice & Easy semi permanent range, the developer is weaker than a permanent dye, so less damaging, and for me it actually sticks to my hair better than a permanent; I dye my hair black and if I use a perm, it fades to dark brown within a couple of weeks and my greys lose all colour. The N&E semi stays black and it's only the regrowth I need to touch up (every 5 or 6 weeks)0
