Hi everyone, long time lurker first time poster. After moving house, then being suspended from work and losing my bonus I'm finding money very tight at the moment. Was thinking of having a bit of a clearance to raise some money. What I wanted to ask about is peoples opinions on the best way to sell stuff. Do You use ebay to hopefully sell for a higher price, places like Facebook selling sites so you get to name a price and have local pick up etc or do you use places lie music magpie which give you a price that you can either accepy or not.

I would avoid music magpie like the plague. They may be ok for cds, but hubby recently got rid of his xbox using them. After months of them changing their price, they eventually gave him £13 for his xbox 360 and games. I've sold various caravan accessories and a shower screen which I no longer require over the past few months.
I've had no success whatsever on five Facebook selling sites in my area. I've had some success with Gumtree, but everything I've put on eBay has sold.
The only problem with eBay is the high cost, and they rip you off even more if your buyer pays by Paypal, so I always do a cash on collection for larger items."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
