Does anyone know which company makes this & is it available in any other supermarkets?
(It is not easy for me to get to an M&S store)

I'm fairly sure it is the same as Morrison's. Both are made from Brazilian chicken, which some sources have claimed means it's to a higher animal welfare standard that the chicken used by the vile Princes (and almost all the other own brand versions).0 -
I used to love M&S chunky chicken, but hadn't bought it for a couple of years, until about a month ago. I found it to be really different - not nice at all! It had a sort of garlicky taste and needed flavour. I won't fe getting it again!Jane

I had not eaten it for years due to MandS not being convenient.
However got a tin recently which said New Recipe on it so was unsure whether I would still like it but found I did.
The contents do not list any garlic which I do not like.0 -
Coincidentally, I was in St Pancras Station's M&S tonight and found a 'new recipe' tin. In the true spirit of self-sacrifice and scientific endeavour, I bought a tin to give it a try.
The Morrison's one is definitely not tainted with garlic, BTW.
Incidentally, do NOT be tempted by Aldi's clone. It is truly vile.0 -
Oh a blast from the past, used to love this on thickly sliced toast with lots of butter when I was a youngster. I know I tried a Sainsbury version about five years ago and found some gristle and skin in there. God making me feel ill even thinking about it.
There used to be a nice Chicken Curry and a Chilli that were nice as a quick snack or great to take when camping.
Will buy a can next time I am in there.0 -
This is bringing back memories of toasted sandwiches we used to make in the Breville, when in need of a quick snack. Using either M & S or Sainsbury's chicken in white sauce. (Incidentally I don't remember ever getting gristle in the Sainsbob one). I feel tempted to buy a tin on reading this thread to see if it's as tasty as I am remembering!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

A Scientist writes: OK, as I was back late and hadn't eaten all day, I tried the M&S can and, frankly found little difference between it and the Morrison's version. There may be one, but you'd need to do a side by side comparison to detect it, IMO. .
Given the cheapness of Morrison's equivalent, it's clearly the better buy (hardly a surprise when compared with anything from M&S)
One other thing I should have added. Don't just avoid the Aldi version. Look at the meat content of the Princes 'big brand' equivalent and weep. Not only is it little better than thick chicken soup - they bought up and then ruined ruined the good old Sussex firm of Shippams, who used to use British chicken exclusively!0 -
I have to agree - the Aldi version is absolutely awful! but for the life of me I cant remember which brand I used to buy! it was from my local village shop - and I am pretty sure it isn't the one they sell now!0
