As an ex-employee myself I would have refunded the cost if you had not placed an order since receiving the new book (as an incentive), other than that I doubt I would refund it unless the customer had a genuine point. Normally I would just send out an empty return bag for the customer to return it in, though if I remember correctly by sending a "bag" out it would refund £3.50 straight away (don't qoute me on that though lol)

Apparently I remember being told that the cost of manufacturing each book is approximately £6-8 each so the £3.50 cost for it is actually subsidised.

I still know a few people that still work there so I might ask them for the most recent competition/promotional free delv codes and post them here for you all.

I wouldnt do that if i were you. I work for Next at enderby, and although your contract is terminated, you are bound by law not to provide information to the public which may cause substantial harm to the business.

I suggest you dont provide inside information for sake of your own welfare
