Car Leasing on a DMP

I had a dmp with payplan and got all sorts of offers from red potato.
It sickens me that they are targeting people who can't go elsewhere, essentially breaking their arrangements and charging them well over the odds.
There are some people who have no choice, they need some of these items in their day to day lives and have no savings. They have a gun to their head and need to pay over the odds to the Co - operative (red potato).
Payplan are supposed to get people out of debt but have been shafting the vulnerable.
Don't get me wrong, payplan were fantastic for me, best thing that ever happened to me but I hate this red potato and the rates they charge.Save 12k in 2014 member 056

Not sure who your dmp is with but payplan have something set up for finance called red potato, or similar name. Stepchange don't have anything similar but worth a phone call to your dmp company. I assume it is one of the free providers and you are not paying for the service. There is also the possibility of reducing your dmp payments to allow you to save for necessities, of course this could upset your creditors but in an emergency can be done. Give them a ring and discuss your options.
I am with Payplan and used Red Potato to finance the ballon payment for my car when the finance came to an end. As Puzzcat said they offer car finance for those on a DMP, some decent cars too though with an increased APR. We bought the car when we were in denial, though a car is essential for our work. We were really worried as we thought we wouldn't be able to secure finance for the balloon payment and would lose the car. Red Potato were really helpful and it all went through okay. I hope this helps.Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought.0 -
Surely if creditors accept car loans through red potato then if someone else will lend you at a better rate then that would also be acceptable?0
