Hi
We applied for our mortgage 3 weeks ago and so far had very little feedback. They asked for a few bits from me (original bank statements as they wouldn't accept online and my P60 as they didnt like the look of my payslips!)
Every time they have asked a question it takes "3 working days" for them to do anything with the information!
Is this normal or are they dragging things out?
It took a while to sort our AIP due to nitpicking and we've had to beg borrow and jump through hoops to please them and got every piece of info we could before putting in the full app to try and avoid delays.
we are worried our seller is going to lose patience as they wanted a quick sale. It is totally out of our hands and we have explained that if there was anything we could do to put a bomb up their bums we would!
Anybody had any dealings with them lately or is this the norm with any lender
Thank you

Cheers just feel completely left in the dark about where we are and Agents acting for the vendor keep asking all time what is happening.

Natwest are particularly bad at handling mortgage applications of late. The customer service is appalling.0

Its now over 4 weeks since we put application in. I expected them to need additional info but why could they not look at the app send a list of everything they want to see and we would of sent it all up. instead its been 1 or 2 bits every week. surely they knew initially what the wanted to see. why drag it out! so worried we gonna lose our dream home as the vendor is getting quite impatient now but its out of our hands i cant do a thing as i keep telling them0

In fairness, natwest arnt too bad usually.
Im assuming they have requested something, still have concerns and have requested something else, rather than they have requested something and then later on requested something completely unrelated?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Nat West has a list of standard requirements based on LTV you can see here in the packaging guide.

That doesn't mean they can't or won't request something else if it appears necessary for the case.I am a mortgage broker. Hi,
I've just completed on my house purchase with Natwest and you're right, they are pretty slow until they're sure they're lending to you. We banked with them previously but still had to provide loads of info before they started moving things along. The good news is as soon as we completed our survey, the ball started rolling and it was about 3 weeks from AIP to release of funds
Just hang in there and do all the circus tricks they ask you for until you're through the process and out the other side!0
