Co-operative Bank telephone recordings
Hope this in the right place...
I'm trying to resolve a long running dispute with the Co-op bank regarding a loan that was sold to me over the phone in 2003.
Following a SAR I have received as much information as they say is available, including notes they have made during telephone calls but there is nothing conclusive. I have gone back to them to ask for telephone recordings but they claim not to have any.
Does anyone know how long such recordings are kept for? I imagine the amount of space required to store these would be substantial so can understand if they drop them after a certain time but at the same time I can't help thinking that they are holding back because they know I'd have them but the short and curlies if I got my hands (or ears!) on them.
What's the norm here?

Work for a bank I would say it is highly likely that the calls were either not recorded in the first place or the data has long since been lost/deleted/overwritten.
Even to this day not all calls are recorded and back in 2003 due to the expense it was mainly only the really important areas, the phones in the dealing rooms for example, that were routinely recorded.0 -
Thanks! Although I really hoped I would be able to squeeze a reocrding or transcript out of them I did suspect all along that that would be the case.0
