Hello, I have been most unsuccessful in my Googling so I thought I'd ask you lovely ladies (and gents).
I have a recipe for chocolate beetroot cake:
100g hot chocolate powder,
230g SR flour
200g sugar
100g dark chocolate
125g butter
250g beetroot
3lge eggs.
If I were to use cocoa powder instead of hot chocolate powder, would I be ok with 40g cocoa powder and 60g extra sugar? Do you think I'd need to add milk powder?
Loads of info about swapping the other way but none for this way round and I like my cake proper chocolatey and don't have any hot chocolate powder in
.
Thanks in anticipation

I only ever use cocoa powder, so although 100g would be too much, I think 40g wouldn't be enough - how about 60g cocoa, 20g extra sugar & 20 g extra flour?
I'd probably do a straight swap as there looks plenty of sugar anyway (& beetroot are sweet anyway). Maybe just a bit of extra flour (only)
instead?:mad: :j:D:beer::eek::A:p:rotfl::cool::):(:T0 -
Sorry can't answer your question but would you mind posting the rest of the recipe to complete the cake as I would like to try it. Thanks0

Thanks for the tip. I shall give it a whirl. It has cream cheese frosting in the middle and ganache on top so that should make it uber sweet anyway!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek: :eek: :eek: £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0
