car finance

just some advise required please

had a car on finance over three years [had no credit history so was classed as poor credit is what i was told]
i provide a grantor and around 550 deposit [from memory]
the car has a pay master tracer in it [[it stops the car working if you don't pay]
well apart from one other time payments have always been paid always within time limit.
wont bore people with all details went wrong last month it wasn't my fault however i brought the payment up to date last Monday for June
due date 17 of each month i did explain to say whats been said loads of times before there not interested no matter what you say
but because of the late payment they said you owe 50.00 late payment fee [haven't got it don't get paid like that] all went well all week when [on friday] the device started going off on the emergency bi-pp I was fuming frantic [my self employed work takes me two hours away from home] could not make any contact so couldn't afford to get stuck i tried for 3 hours on and off to get an answer on the phone I did at 2.oopm.oclock lady said we got system problems can you tell me why its going off no sorry cant but will put note on saying don't get paid till next week ok

any last night pulled up at home turned it off thing started bipping wouldn't start by which time im now fuming tried phone no answer
I went on the net and lucky for me found a emergency code that allowed me to go to work I did eventually talk again to them was trying for over two hours no apology had to pay 10.00

asked why is it going off she said well payments up to date ONLY THING IS ALTHOUGH SHE NEVER SAID WAS THEY ARE DEMANDING LATE PAYMENT FEE OR THERE STOPPING THE CAR TILL I PAY.

CAR FEE DUE NEXT THURSDAY WHEN IM PAYED. THEY WANT 60.00 IN TOTAL FOR LATE PAYMENT. so the code is good till Thursday then there stopping the car

my question after this very long post is can they do this seems like im being held to ransom pay up or else?

You should probably be more mad at yourself, to be honest. These payment schemes are more and more common and details of any late fees are laid out in the contract you sign when you take the finance out.

It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."

As Gaz has said, you knew the device was in there to stop your car if you didn't pay up. You knew you were late and they told you there was a late payment fee that needed to be paid. You said so yourself that if you don't pay, they stop the car. You didn't pay, they stopped the car, I don't see the problem here.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.

What on earth is an emergency bi-pp?

Your late payment may not have been your fault but it certainly wasn't theirs.
They only lend to people they think are unlikely to maintain payments so have this device fitted for exactly this purpose.
