Apple cider vinegar disaster

I have been trying some special products, and was so pleased with the results of using coconut oil I decided to give apple cider vinegar a go. I DID dilute it in a glass of water, but it burned my throat and turned it into a breeding ground for germs. I got a cough and cold, and felt awful, as if I had flu. It took almost three weeks before I got back to normal.
I thought it would make me full of health and energy, but it had the exact opposite effect.
I used a good quality brand, one with 'the mother', Perhaps it was an allergic reaction so I should forget ever using it again; perhaps I should have accustomed myself to it gradually, starting with one drop in water.
Has anyone else had such an experience?

It gave me the most horrendous heartburn. I felt like I had burnt a hole in my oesophagus.
I don't think mine was from the mother though, just standard supermarket stuff.
Never again. May I ask what way you took the coconut oil and what benefits you found please?Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
Thanks for that Arty. I knew it could burn if undiluted, and that it was best to use a straw to avoid damage to the teeth, but was not expecting to be wiped out.
I can't remember where I first heard about the benefits of coconut oil, but last year I invested in some high quality, organic cold pressed oil. I have used it to clean my teeth every morning since last autumn. Since then, two different dentists have congratulated me on how clean, pink and healthy everything looks. That has never happened before.
I have used it to cook a few things, but not regularly. I have used the cheap supermarket oil for rough skin and it works well. Some people cannot stand the smell: I love it.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

Not being funny guys, but it's an acid. Of course it burns.
Drinking vinegar?? When did that fad start?:huh: Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
It is more than a fad: many people swear by it. I found a lot of information online and read it before taking the plunge. Of course it is not to be swigged directly from the bottle!
Weight loss, de-toxing and reducing heartburn are among the alleged benefits, as listed here:

Regardless of where it comes from and how it's fermented, vinegar of any kind is simply dilute acetic acid.
How is drinking acid going to help acid reflux? Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0
